Simple Fun to Keep Toddlers Busy

Simple Fun to Keep Toddlers Busy

We recently tried some simple fun to keep toddlers busy as we have seen on different blog posts.  The Kid's Activity Blog had a rubber bands on a can activity that we tried.  It was a little difficult for tiny hands to pull the rubber band open, but it was fun trying. This activity is good for developing fine motor skills.

We also tried tracing lids and then matching them to the page we created.  Use whatever lids you have on hand and trace them before matching.  Older children can create the page for a younger child. Although we noticed a similar activity on Pinterest, when we tried to follow the link the blog seems to have been discontinued. This was a successful experience and could be replicated when other lids are available. Nice matching! This helps teach children to look for the right size, bigger or smaller.

We then tried using glass beads for the first time.  One color only was provided just to help get used to this new material.  What fun! Fingers worked better than the tongs for this activity. We have noticed similar activities online such as at this post by Moms Have Questions, too

Finally, using pom poms with tongs in a round ice cube tray was successful and fun. Look at that concentration! We noticed something similar on The Activity Mom
